Our Mission
The mission of Sunset West Health is to provide exceptional patient care, improve education and engage in research that impacts the health of West Texas and beyond. Sunset West Health is dedicated to meeting the healthcare needs of patients. We are focused on the total spectrum of infectious disease care from patients living with HIV, Hepatitis C to patients with hospital infections. Sunset West Health is strategically positioned to meet the healthcare needs of the diverse population within the Southwest, specifically El Paso. Sunset West Health provides training opportunities for students - medical, nursing and pharmacy – residents and case managers. Our goal is to advance knowledge through innovative research and scholarships in viral medicine while also focusing on healthcare disparities and international health.
Ogechika Alozie
MD, MPH, AAHIVM
Medical Director
Ogechika Alozie (MD MPH FACP FIDSA AAHIVS) is a graduate of the University of Minnesota's Infectious Diseases fellowship. Prior to this, he received his medical degree from the University of Benin in Nigeria and then completed an internship and residency at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he got his introduction to Digital Health. He is also board-certified in clinical informatics by the American Board of Preventive Medicine, making him one of less than 100 such certified physicians in the state of Texas.

Dr. Alozie was most recently the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at an HCA facility, Del Sol Medical Center, where he oversaw clinical quality, and physician alignment and partnered on healthcare innovations. He is presently the CEO of Sunset West Health an organization in El Paso focused on the total spectrum of Infectious Diseases care; from persons living with HIV to patients with COVID, as well as hospital infections. Dr. Alozie believes that patient care is the most important part of medicine. “Technology is not a replacement for patient care, but rather a way to enhance and catalyze the care our patients deserve”.

As the chair, co-chair, or member on multiple local and state committees, he represents El Paso, focused on how health information technology can improve care. In 2016 he gave a TEDx - El Paso talk titled “The Digital Immigrant” and recently gave another one titled “Uncertainty, In the Time of COVID”. In 2016 he was also awarded “Best Doctor in the City 2016” by the El Paso City Magazine. In 2017, the El Paso Pharmacy Association gave his clinic the "Award for Innovative Practice". Since leaving corporate healthcare and returning to patient care, Dr. Alozie’s team at Sunset West Health has been awarded the 2021 Minority Health Products & Services Firm of the Year and the 2022 Minority Health Services/Firm of the Year, both by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. In 2022, he returned to the TEDx El Paso stage to present “Uncertainty in the Time of COVID”.

During the COVID 19 pandemic, Dr. Alozie represented the El Paso community on various media channels; these included – CNBC, Bloomberg, NPR, and CBS. He is presently a medical contributor for El Paso TV station – KVIA.

Osamah Abdaljalil
Application/Data Analyst
Osamah Abdaljalil graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from New Mexico State University. Osamah is responsible for IT operations within Sunset West Health.
Amelia Antunez
Biller
Amelia Antunez brings 30 years experience to the organization with accounts receivable reconciliation, billing, collections and customer service. She enjoys working closely with patients, works well under pressure and is a team player.
Stephanie Carrasco
Front Desk Receptionist
Stephanie Carrasco graduated with an Associate Degree in Medical Coding and Billing from Southwest University. Stephanie is new to the medical industry and excited to advance in the field. She’s grateful for the opportunity to begin her career with Sunset West Health and ready for what the future will bring. She’s extremely patient and helpful with the needs of customers both internal and external.
Ricardo Garcia
Medical Assistant
Ricardo Garcia graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Biological Sciences from Cal State University Bakersfield. He brings seven years of medical assistant experience; two in pain management and five in primary care. Ricardo is an LGBTQ+ advocate, he attends and volunteers at community events.
Grecia Heredia

Pharmacy Director
Grecia Heredia graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy and completed an American Society of Health System Pharmacist accredited post graduate residency. The main focus of her residency was ambulatory care, HIV, and Hepatitis C. She is board certified by the American Academy of HIV Medicine. She is a clinical preceptor for several schools of pharmacy in the state of Texas and is involved in training medical students and residents.
Silvia Lujan
Medical Assistant
Silvia Lujan graduated from Anamarc College. She brings eight years of experience to Sunset West, three in infectious disease. Silvia is also certified in Texas Vaccines for Children, phlebotomy and EKG. She is outgoing, lovable, enjoys providing care to patients and participating in community events.
Kenia Luna
Patient Navigator
Kenia Luna graduated from Southwest University as a Medical AssIstant. She brings fourteen years of experience to Sunset West Health. She’s worked in family medicine, dialysis, internal medicine and pediatrics. She started with the organization and now has two years in Infectious disease. Kenia is excited and appreciates the knowledge she’s gained. She likes being outdoors, traveling, spending time with family and is a positive team member.

Family Nurse Practitioner
Jhoana Quezada graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a Bachelor of ScIence in Nursing in 2010. She completed her Master's in Nursing at the University of Texas-Arlington in 2019. She is certified by the American Academv of Nurse Practitioners in Family Medicine and Board certified by the American Academy of HIV Medicine.
Cindy Ross
Operations Director
Cindy Ross brings more than twenty years of clinical administrative experience to the team. Cindy is a true advocate for patient focused care, she strives for compassionate and high quality care for ALL patients.
Christopher Subia
Prevention Navigator
Christopher attended the University of Arizona State for a Bachelor’s in Biomedical Sciences. Chris is the Prevention Navigator for Sunset West Health. He brings over 5 years of knowledge and experience in the field of healthcare. He has worked serving the El Paso community as a Case Investigator through the Fire Department and was a part of the COVID Task Force with the Public Health Department, while always ensuring that the best care and compassion are provided to the patients he encounters.
